A Statement of Support from UVA Summer
Guides 2020 During this time of national grief and outrage over the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and countless others, the Summer Interns for the Office of Admission first and foremost stand in solidarity with the Black community at UVA and around the country. We actively condemn the systemic injustices and historical oppressions that exist within our university and country as a whole, and proudly support the Black Lives Matter movement.
We are all students at the University of Virginia. As summer interns, our role is to offer an honest view of the school that we call home. We are here as a resource this summer for all prospective students, regardless of race, gender, sexuality, or socioeconomic status. We want to help create the next generation of UVA students and make sure that all voices in our diverse community are heard and included. We will be answering questions about diversity and inclusion at UVA in our Instagram stories @uva_summer. Please do not hesitate to ask questions - we will try to answer them as candidly as we can, offering resources, links, and support whenever needed.
